Due to the closing of Yahoo Podcasts, I have stumbled on a few articles and blog posts that suggest that podcasts may decease in the near future.

What do you think?

This says more about Yahoo than about podcasting.

Podcasting has hit a plateau. All the early adopters have jumped on board.

Podcasting has struggled to catch on with the mainstream.

You say internet radio and people think radio station that stream their am/fm content. You say internet tv and people think NBC/ABC/CBS/FOX etc.

RSS and Podcasting is still a little too "Why do I need this?" for the average web user.

Gosh, I hope not. I listen to many of them and am personally involved in at least three!

If podcasting is dead, I didn't get the memo.

Well in our ministry Podcasting is a growing technology that we have embraced. We are being asked for more and more every month. Our ministry's website gets about 100,000 hits a month and 20% of them new to the site, and about 40% of new visits subscribe to podcasts. Seems like maybe podcast is dead or dying for some but for others it's booming. To check out our website visit PCJovenes.com (the poscasts are on the right panel) on FacebookM. Also our sister website CapitalYouth.com which has a high RSS subscription rate, also on the up swing. I believe it also depends on who you are targeting. If your current visitors aren't reacting well or maybe plateau to your gospel then change your target. This brings to mind some biblical Hebrew agriculture. Cultivate part of the land for seven years then let it rest for seven, while cultivating the other part, then return to the rested land with new seed.

    God Bless!
